Long days at the craft fair are made for peeling layers
Posted by Rose on 26th May 2022
Staying comfortable when the days’ temperature can swing 50 degrees calls for a little strategizing.
A 10-hour craft fair day calls for lots of layers!
At this time of year, when I head in to exhibit at the Lithia Artisans Market in Ashland, temperatures at our home are often in the low 40s due to living at nearly 3000 feet. By mid afternoon in Ashland, temperatures can climb into the upper 90s. Big temperature swings like that involve lots of layering in order to stay comfortable throughout the day. (It doesn’t hurt that my booth contains its own changing booth so peeling off layers such as leggings, camisoles, boots, and socks is pretty straightforward.)
When afternoons become sizzlers, you’ll often find me in a Tank Top and Angled Skirt, as below.
The hemp and Tencel fibers in Sympatico’s fabrics have qualities that make them ideal for layering throughout the year, as I blogged about here. Whether you’re putting layers on in fall and winter or peeling them off in spring and summer, a little planning can help. It’s all about strategic layering.
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues and customers at the Lithia Artisans Market; it’s been a long time!
Between covid, and more recently, unseasonably cold weather, it feels like an age since I last connected face to face with Sympatico fans at the Lithia Artisan’s Market. That’s about to change if the weather forecast for a mild Saturday holds up.
